The U.S. special envoy to North Korea Sung Kim and his South Korean and Japanese counterparts discussed the “recent situation” on the Korean Peninsula during trilateral talks held in Tokyo on Tuesday.
The meeting follows what North Korea described as “strategic weapon” tests on Sept. 11 and 12, which appear to be new, long-range cruise missiles developed over the past two years.
