South Koreans have learned to stop worrying and love the bomb, polling suggests

Leading think tank finds consistent support for nuclear armament among general public every year for the past decade

A majority of South Koreans have expressed support for developing nuclear weapons every year for the past decade, according to a Seoul-based think tank’s analysis of survey data.

A new report from the Asan Institute for Policy Studies shows that the percentage of respondents who agreed that South Korea should develop nuclear weapons stayed roughly between 54% and 69% from 2010 to 2020.
