North Korea is expanding a new youth propaganda campaign that appears aimed at reigniting enthusiasm for socialist ideals through celebrity artists, releasing new music videos on Sunday featuring children singing patriotic songs about the ruling party and their “father” Kim Jong Un.
The videos, shot in a flashy, modern and personalized style similar to those recently released for the young band named after Kim’s State Affairs Commission (SAC), were released amid the government’s anxiety over the spread of “dangerous” individualism and interest in foreign culture among young North Koreans in recent years.
