FBI chief describes 'growing' cyber espionage threat and challenge of investigating cyberattacks to Senate committee

North Korea’s cyber capabilities have increased in recent years, the director of the FBI told legislators this week, equipping Pyongyang with tools to threaten financial institutions and U.S. national security.

FBI Director Christopher Wray shared the assessment in a statement to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Tuesday (U.S. time), emphasizing that the DPRK poses “a growing cyber espionage threat.”
