North Korea slams AUKUS deal as ‘undesirable and dangerous’

Foreign ministry official warns of countermeasures if new pact ‘has even a little adverse impact’ on DPRK security

North Korea slammed a new submarine deal between the U.S., Australia and the U.K. on Monday, threatening countermeasures if the deal impacts North Korea’s national security in any way.

The state-run Korean Central News Agency published an interview with a ranking foreign ministry official who denounced the pact, called AUKUS, for triggering a nuclear arms race in Asia.
