North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s inner circle in the politburo presidium welcomed a new member and the party chose a new chief of weapons manufacturing, state media announced Tuesday, following a politburo meeting last week where the appointments were likely made.
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the recently demoted top military official Pak Jong Chon made a comeback by becoming the fifth member of the politburo presidium, while three other military men -- Yu Jin, Rim Kwang Il and Jang Jong Nam -- became alternate politburo members.
