A recent survey suggests that South Koreans’ confidence in their military compared to North Korea’s has grown in the last two years, but a significant number still believe the North’s capabilities outweigh the South’s.
The Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU) collected the data in April 2021 when putting together its annual survey on South Koreans’ perception on North Korea issues but did not include it in results published earlier this month. Sang-sin Lee, a primary researcher behind the survey, shared the results with NK News this week.
