The U.S. State Department on Tuesday stressed that the U.S. and South Korea will continue “close and constant” coordination on North Korea policy after the two allies agreed to scrap their “working group” on DPRK issues.
U.S.-ROK engagement “is most certainly not ending, far from it,” State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a briefing in response to a question on how the U.S. will coordinate or enforce DPRK sanctions with South Korea going forward without the group.
