North Korean leader Kim Jong Un convened this year's first meeting of top party officials in the political bureau (politburo) on Friday to discuss "urgent" issues with state planning in the first half of 2021.
State-run outlets Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) and Rodong Sinmun on Saturday provided only a short readout of the meeting, but announced another, larger political meeting called a plenum will also be held in early June.
