The U.S. Deputy Special Representative for North Korea Jung H. Pak will visit South Korea this weekend alongside Sung Kim, the country’s point man on North Korea affairs, according to the U.S. State Department.
Pak is a former CIA official and is regarded as a North Korea specialist in Washington circles. She was appointed to the deputy representative role on North Korea earlier this year, and also works on China policy in the State Department’s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
