South Korea and China plan to install two additional military hotlines to “ease tensions” on the Korean Peninsula, Seoul’s Ministry of National Defense announced on Tuesday.
Officials from South Korea and China held a remote meeting on March 2 and signed a revised memorandum that promised to increase the number of military hotlines from three to five. In general, military units use these hotlines to safely communicate or to share intelligence during emergencies.
