US omits North Korea from keynote speech on foreign policy priorities

Omission despite Biden’s pledge to liaise closely with partners like South Korea

A keynote U.S. foreign policy speech omitted North Korea from Washington’s top foreign priorities on Wednesday, despite the Biden-Harris administration’s pledge to do better at working closely with partners like South Korea.

The priorities, set out by U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, compare starkly with those of the previous Trump White House, which described North Korea as a top national security threat early in the administration.
