North Korean leader Kim Jong Un guided his first publicly recorded meeting of the year with top military officials, the state-run Rodong Sinmun reported on Thursday, ordering them to establish better “moral discipline”.
Wednesday’s meeting -- the first enlarged meeting of the Eighth Central Military Commission (CMC) of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) -- involved a number of leadership reshuffles, including the replacement of two military commanders. The country’s defense minister and the director of the military’s powerful General Political Bureau were also promoted to the rank of Vice-Marshal.
