North Korea’s Eighth Party Congress came and went without any grand opening of the Pyongyang General Hospital, the country’s premier construction project that already passed its original deadline in October.
The hospital was also omitted from a list of “important construction projects” mentioned in a brief report released Monday on this year’s state budget, discussed at a session of the Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA) on Sunday. North Korea had previously hinted that the hospital might open around the time of the eight-day-long Party Congress.
