North Korean defector-politician hit with two mysterious hacking attempts

National Assembly lawmaker Ji Seong-ho’s office has received at least two phishing emails in the last month

Defector-politician Ji Seong-ho is no stranger to phishing attacks: Just over a month ago, hackers attempted to impersonate his office in emails to the North Korea-focused Unification Media Group.

This time, however, Ji himself appears to be the ongoing target of phishing attempts. At least two phishing emails were sent to addresses connected to him and his office in the last month, according to screenshots seen by NK News — one on Dec. 4, purported to be from the Ministry of Unification, and one on Nov. 16, which appears to be a fake Naver security alert.
