North Korean engineers revealed the design and build of a new, modern electric train locomotive — the latest update to the country's transportation sector, which has undergone a range of modernization efforts in recent years.
On Tuesday, North Korean state media showed off a blue-and-white colored loco, which features a curved body and much smoother design than previous North Korean rail power units. It appears to be the first design with an asynchronous motor completed since 2011.
