North Korea sends mixed signals on COVID-19 at post-military parade events

Kim Jong Un said to a maskless crowd that the country was virus-free, but masks returned at other events Saturday

North Korea appeared to send mixed messages over the weekend over whether or not the country was truly free from any cases of COVID-19.

Kim Jong Un declared that all North Koreans were “free from any disease” when he spoke to thousands of citizens at a pre-dawn military parade on Oct. 10 in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).
