While most of the attention around North Korea’s Saturday military parade has been on their giant new nuclear missile and how Washington may respond, Kim Jong Un also appeared to make a number of positive gestures to the U.S. at the parade.
For one, anti-U.S. slogans that were featured prominently on the fronts of military vehicles at the last military parade in Sept. 2018 were removed for this weekend’s parade. Kim also avoided mentioning the U.S. by name during his speech.
