The South Korean government will donate $10 million worth of humanitarian aid to North Korea through the World Food Programme (WFP) in the next few months, the Ministry of Unification (MOU) announced on Thursday.
The money, donated from the Inter-Korean Cooperation Fund, will be used to buy 9,000 tons of fortified food for pregnant women, nursing mothers and children. It will also provide 3,600 tons of corn, soy beans and cooking oil to women working in a WFP program aimed at building up local infrastructure to protect against natural disasters.
