North Korea is “playing the game” to influence the upcoming U.S. Presidential election in November, the head of U.S. Counterintelligence (CI) said on Aug. 19 in a public online Q&A presented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The comments from Director of the U.S. National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) Bill Evanina, who serves as the “principal CI and security advisor” to Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, are the highest-level indicator yet that the intelligence community sees Pyongyang as a threat to the election.
