North Korea issues red alert over heavy rains and alludes to possible flooding

State television reported that around 500mm of rainfall has hit certain regions since Saturday

North Korean state media warned citizens about heavy rain and possible incoming flooding across the country on Monday, reporting on high precipitation totals in a few specific areas since Saturday.

Korean Central Television (KCTV) aired a special weather segment on the afternoon of Aug. 3, featuring an official with the State Hydro-Meteorological Administration, who informed viewers of extreme rainfall in parts of the south and northwestern regions of the country.
