IFRC aid reaches flooded North Korean town as state media touts relief efforts

Over 800 homes were flooded or destroyed in Unpha county in severe storms last week

Updated at 14:30 KST on Aug. 13 to include information about North Korean television's efforts to hide evidence of foreign assistance.

Victims of flooding in the North Korean countryside are staying in tents provided by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), images broadcast on state television on the evening of Aug. 12 revealed, as ruling party officials delivered boxes of aid promised by DPRK leader Kim Jong Un last week.
