China opens new customs office along border with North Korea

The Changbaishan Customs Office will handle the only Sino-DPRK land passage at Shuangmu Peak land port

China has opened a new customs office with jurisdiction over the country’s only land passage with North Korea, Chinese state media Xinhua said on Aug. 17.

The Changbaishan Customs Office, which operates under the Changchun Customs Office, is responsible for the Changbaishan Nature Reserve and Antu County administrative divisions’ customs services and will have “jurisdiction over the Sino-DPRK border’s only land passage, Shuangmu Peak land port.”
