North Korean captain sentenced to one and a half years in a Russian penal colony

"Ri, Z. Yu" found guilty of illegal entry and crab poaching, say court documents

A North Korean captain has been sentenced to one and a half years in a corrective labor colony for illegal crab poaching, Russia’s Interfax news agency reported Tuesday.

According to Khasansky District Court documents, which do not name the nationality of defendant “Ri, Z. Yu,” the captain was sentenced last month for crossing the border without valid documents and “illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources."
