North Korean state media this week promoted dozens of themed sightseeing electric carts to be sent to the Wonsan-Kalma tourist resort, now around one month after the original deadline for the project set by leader Kim Jong Un.

The “new-type tourist battery cars” are claimed to have been domestically designed and manufactured as a “precious fruition of self-reliance” by workers fulfilling the demands of the ruling party.
