North Korea still violating nuclear, biological weapons treaties: State Dept.

Executive summary of upcoming State Department report highlights key source of U.S.-DPRK diplomatic stalemate

North Korea continues to violate global treaties on the use of nuclear and biological weapons, the U.S. State Department said on Wednesday in a public summary of a new report on arms control.

The report, which accuses the North of breaching both the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC), comes as the two countries remain locked in a tense diplomatic standoff over the fate of the DPRK's nuclear weapons program.
