Kim Jong Un did not appear at an annual visit to the mausoleum of the country’s founding President Kim Il Sung on the holiday celebrating his birth, state media revealed Thursday, in what appears to be a first since the North Korean leader came to power.
Other top officials were reported on the morning of April 16 to have on Wednesday paid tribute to the DPRK’s two former leaders at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, but only a flower basket from Kim Jong Un appeared.
