South Korea, China, and Japan agree to promote DPRK denuclearization talks

Only dialogue and diplomacy can achieve denuclearization and peace, in accordance with UNSC resolutions: joint statement

South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang reaffirmed in a trilateral summit on Tuesday their common goal of achieving the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula through "dialogue and negotiation."

The summit, held in the Chinese city of Chengdu, comes ahead of North Korea's 'year-end deadline' and amid an ongoing stalemate in U.S.-DPRK nuclear talks.
