North Korea has plans to build a new international tourism district in the place of the formerly inter-Korean run Mount Kumgang resort, Seoul's Ministry of Unification (MOU) said in a statement Friday, and has requested South Korean officials visit soon to remove ROK-owned assets at the site.
The news follows a recent visit by the North Korean leader to the Mount Kumgang resort earlier in the week, at which Kim Jong Un ordered that South Korean-owned facilities at the site be removed pending consultation with Seoul.
