Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and top North Korean official Choe Ryong Hae discussed reestablishing ties and reopening the Malaysian embassy in Pyongyang in a meeting in Azerbaijan over the weekend, according to the Prime Minister's office.
Choe, Vice Chairman of North Korea’s State Affairs Commission (SAC), traveled to Baku to take part in the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), where he met other allied leaders and reiterated the DPRK’s stance on the U.S. and South Korea in a speech.
