ROK to begin operating “DMZ Peace Trail” near inter-Korean border this month

Project set to coincide with first anniversary of the third inter-Korean summit

The South Korean government on Wednesday announced a plan to begin opening up some parts of demilitarized zone (DMZ) and its surrounding areas to the public.

In plans unveiled at a joint news conference by five government ministries, Seoul said it plans to begin operating one of three “peace and security"-themed walking trails connected to the DMZ later in the month.
