No invites issued for April 15 military parade, foreign Pyongyang residents say

Mixed signals on possible parade as 107th anniversary of Kim Il Sung's birth looms

Foreign diplomats and aid workers in Pyongyang have not received invitations for an April 15 military parade, despite satellite imagery analysis this week suggesting that North Korea may be preparing for one on that date.

Monday's 'Day of the Sun' celebration – which will this year commemorate the 107th birth anniversary of founding president Kim Il Sung – is not anticipated to include major festivities as it doesn't represent a five or ten-year interval of the anniversary.
