North Korean sports minister granted rare green light to visit Japan

Kim Il Guk to attend General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees in Tokyo

North Korean Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Kim Il Guk is set to visit Tokyo this week with the permission of the Japanese government, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said on Tuesday.

A DPRK delegation led by Kim is scheduled to attend the 23rd General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), which will be held in the Japanese capital on Wednesday and Thursday.
