Seoul extends term for inter-Korean organ, hinting at plans to reopen KIC

"Attraction of foreign capital" to joint-run projects also part of organization's remit

Thursday will see Seoul extend the operations of a key inter-Korean cooperation organ - an organization with a remit to prepare for the resumption of work at the now-shuttered Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC) - by one year.

The Inter-Korean Cooperation District Policy Planning Directorate was temporarily set up with a two-year term in October 2013 to replace the now-defunct Inter-Korean Cooperation District Support Directorate.
