Tropical cyclone currently forecast to hit North Korea

Extreme weather expected to bring heavy rainfall to the region

The European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations on Tuesday warned that a tropical cyclone is forecast to hit North Korea in the coming days.

The weather system is one of three tropical cyclones forecast to hit the region, but Cyclone Soulik which is currently approaching South Korea could travel northwards through the DPRK on Friday and Saturday.
