U.S. to push North Korea on poor human rights record: State Department

Comments follow warnings from DPRK that criticism could “pour cold water” on upcoming talks

The U.S. State Department on Wednesday issued a statement in support of North Korea Freedom Week and said that Washington will continue to press the DPRK on its poor human rights record.

The statement condemned North Korea's political prison camps and human rights violations in "virtually every aspect of life."
