Seoul approves USD$1.4 million in spending on Pyongyang K-pop concerts

DPRK govt paid for accommodation, meals, and in-country transport, unification ministry says

The ROK Ministry of Unification (MOU) on Friday approved close to KRW1.6 billion (USD$1.4 million) of funding for two concerts by South Korean singers in the DPRK earlier in the month.

The bill was approved at the 293rd session of the Inter-Korean Exchange and Cooperation Promotion Council, the unification ministry said in a written press release, with the money coming from the government-run Inter-Korean Cooperation Fund (IKCF).
