S. Korea will allow foreign Winter Olympics spectators to wave DPRK flags: MOU

Incidents broke out in April 2017 when spectators tried to cheer on North Korean team

South Korean authorities will allow some spectators to wave North Korean flags during the upcoming Winter Olympics, reversing a ban in place as recently as April last year, the Ministry of Unification (MOU) told NK News on Monday.

"DPRK flags are allowed in accordance with the Olympic Charter and international practice, and North Korean nationals are allowed to possess the flags and enter stadiums," an MOU spokesperson said.
