Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs Damdin Tsogtbaatar wrapped up a three-day visit to North Korea on Tuesday, DPRK state media said, having agreed to maintain ongoing diplomatic relations and cooperation surrounding disaster prevention and control.

The cooperation and diplomatic good-will comes despite the U.S. continuing to advocate members of the international community cut or downgrade economic and political ties with North Korea.

“At the talks both sides exchanged views on the issue of continuing to develop the long-standing friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in several fields,” a Monday KCNA report said of Tsogtbaatar’s meeting with DPRK foreign minister Ri Yong Ho.
