Claims that N. Korea seeks to use nukes to annex ROK are “lunacy”: state media

Statements by U.S. officials aimed at driving a wedge between two Koreas, Rodong Sinmun says

Recent claims by U.S. officials that Pyongyang seeks to use its nuclear weapons for reunification are "lunacy" aimed at encouraging anti-DPRK sentiment in the South, the Rodong Sinmun claimed in a commentary on Wednesday.

Describing the argument that North Korea might use its arsenal to forcibly unify the peninsula as “preposterous sophistry,” the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) organ said the U.S. sought to "drive a wedge" between the two Koreas.
