The Pyongyang-based Korea Central TV (KCTV) station upgraded its news studio on Thursday, following earlier upgrades to the channel's signal this week which saw the introduction of a widescreen high-definition format and stereo sound.
Both of Thursday's five and eight pm news broadcasts featured presenters reading news in front of an animated blue-colored map of the world focused on the peninsula in the new widescreen format.
