Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to use China’s economic leverage over North Korea to pressure the country to denuclearize, U.S. President Donald Trump said in a speech at the White House on Wednesday.
Trump also said that he and Xi discussed the proposed freeze-for-freeze deal tabled by China and co-signed by Russia, which would see the U.S. and South Korea suspend joint military exercises in return for North Korea’s freeze of nuclear and missile tests.
