Seoul to compensate companies impacted by closure of inter-Korean projects: MOU

Decision not linked to any plans to reopen Kaesong Industrial Complex, MOU stresses

The South Korean government on Friday announced plans to provide financial support to companies formerly based at the Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC) and involved in other inter-Korean projects.

“The government has provided supporting measures for companies in Kaesong Industrial Complex as well as involved in inter-Korean economic cooperation... to fulfill the enhanced state responsibility,” Vice Minister of Unification Chun Hae-sung said at a special news conference.
