Pyongyang’s Arch of Triumph mosaic undergoing major renovation

Over two-month-long period raises questions on goal of project

A large mosaic adjacent to Pyongyang's landmark Arch of Triumph is undergoing major works, though whether workers are fixing the existing design or installing a newly updated one remains unclear.

Large white drapes were pictured in September hanging over the length of the mosaic, erected in April 1982 for Kim Il Sung's 70th birthday, while on a later day men could be seen doing unspecified works on parts of it.
