N. Korea says it’s increasing coal production, despite sanctions

DPRK media frequently claims coal production has increased by over 100 percent

North Korea said it would increase its coal production despite not being able to export the commodity without breaching UN sanctions, via an article in the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) published on Monday.

The report claimed a North Korean coal mine had increased its output by 105 percent, saying it would continue production.
