Abe, Moon to push for new UNSC sanctions resolution against North Korea

South Korean President condemns Tuesday's launch of the Hwasong-12 as a "violent act" against Japan

South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday discussed the possibility of a new United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions resolution against the DPRK to increase pressure on North Korea, Seoul's Blue House has said.

South Korean presidential office spokesperson Park Soo-hyun reported that Moon spoke with Abe at 0930 KST to discuss responses to Tuesday morning's missile launch by North Korea.
