S. Korean government still “willing” to re-open Kaesong Complex: KIC official

"International and domestic public opinion" preventing reopening, however

The South Korean government supports the idea of reopening the Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC), a KIC business official told NK News on Wednesday, but significant hurdles remain before inter-Korean business in the city can restart.

South Korea's new Minister of Unification Cho Myoung-gyon met with 14 officials from South Korean firms that had invested in KIC on Wednesday, 9 days after taking office, in his first with former businesspeople from the complex.
