Moon says “doors open” to N. Korean participation in PyeongChang Olympics

President says DPRK athletes at the games could "strengthen peace" on the peninsula

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has said that he is still open to the possibility of North Korean participation in the Winter Olympic Games, in a speech in Pyeongchang to mark 200 days until the opening of the tournament.

"I hope the Winter and Summer Olympics, which are held consecutively in Korea, China and Japan, will be a good opportunity to strengthen peace in the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia," the President said.
