Youth hostel renting space from N. Korea’s Berlin embassy denies DPRK ties

The City Hostel Berlin has found itself accused of a possible UN sanctions breach

A youth hostel in Berlin which rents space from the local North Korean embassy has hit back at claims that it is owned by the DPRK or that its rental payments fund the country's weapons programs via a press release issued on Thursday.

The City Hostel Berlin has found itself at the center of a possible UN sanctions breach after Martin Schäfer, a spokesman for Germany’s Foreign Ministry, said the hostel would have to close following the adoption of UN Resolution 2321.
