UN releases review of North Korea flood recovery operations

Three of six key sector targets met amid funding shortage

A review of humanitarian aid operations in North Korea’s flood-hit regions has been published by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on Tuesday, highlighting several key achievements and some shortcomings by the responding in-country teams.

In late August and early September of 2016, extensive flooding in North Korea's northeast regions instigated by Typhoon Lionrock caused extensive damage and impacted an estimated 600,000 people.
